This notice explains what we do with personal information when you use alleypondglobal.com or contact us through it. It is written to be read, not to be survived.

Who we are

Alley Pond Trading Corporation, New York, USA, is responsible for the personal information described here. You can reach us about anything on this page at contact@alleypondglobal.com.

This site sets no cookies

We use no cookies, no tracking pixels, no advertising tags and no third-party analytics scripts. There is nothing to consent to and no banner to dismiss, because there is nothing running.

What we collect, and why

When you send us an inquiry. The contact form asks for your name, company, business email address, and what you need — inquiry type, product family, application, indicative volume and your requirement. Your phone number is optional. We use this to answer you and, if it goes further, to quote and supply. Our basis for holding it is that you asked us to get in touch, and that we have a legitimate interest in responding to commercial inquiries.

When you subscribe to updates. The newsletter asks only for your email address. We use it to send crop outlook, grade availability and market notes. Our basis is your consent, and you can withdraw it at any time — every message carries an unsubscribe link, or you can simply write to us.

When you visit any page. Our hosting provider records standard server information: IP address, browser type, the page requested and the time. This is how any website stays online and secure. We do not use it to build a profile of you, and it is not linked to your inquiry.

Who else sees it

We do not sell your information. We do not share it with anyone for their own marketing.

Two service providers process information on our behalf and under our instructions: Netlify, which hosts this website and stores form submissions until we retrieve them, and our email provider, which carries our correspondence.

Both are based in the United States, so information you send us is processed there. If you are writing from the EU or UK, your information leaves your jurisdiction when you send it — that is inherent in contacting a US supplier, and our providers maintain the safeguards required for such transfers.

Beyond those two, we share information only where the law requires it.

How long we keep it

Inquiries and correspondence: up to three years from our last contact with you, so we can pick up a conversation where it left off. Longer only where a transaction record must be kept for tax or trade-compliance reasons.

Newsletter subscriptions: until you unsubscribe, and then only long enough to make sure we do not write to you again.

Server logs: for a short period, as our hosting provider retains them.

Your rights

You can ask us to give you a copy of what we hold about you, correct it if it is wrong, delete it, restrict what we do with it, or send it to someone else. You can object to our using it, and you can withdraw consent to the newsletter at any time.

Write to contact@alleypondglobal.com and we will respond. There is no charge, and we will not make it difficult.

If you are in the EU or UK and you think we have handled your information badly, you are entitled to complain to your national data protection authority. We would rather you told us first.

Keeping it safe

This website is static — there is no database behind it, no user accounts, and nothing to log into. Form submissions sit in our hosting provider's dashboard, which only we can reach, and we move them into our own records and delete them from there.

Children

This is a business-to-business site for ingredient professionals. It is not directed at children and we do not knowingly collect information about them.

Changes

If we change how we handle personal information, we will update this page and change the date at the top.
